Personal training isn’t simply about counting reps and telling you when to stop.
Your trainer will coach your technique, challenge you appropriately, monitor your progress and adapt your training as you become fitter and stronger.
We want you to understand why you’re doing what you’re doing, so that you become more confident and capable in your own body.
All sessions are by appointment.
Forget crowded gym floors, waiting for equipment or wondering what you should be doing next.
At Gymtivity, one-on-one personal training gives you the dedicated attention of your trainer in a private, supportive environment where your programme is designed specifically around your body, your goals and your lifestyle.
Whether you’re completely new to exercise, returning after a break, wanting to lose body fat, build strength or improve your sporting performance, your training will be tailored to where you are now — and progressed as you improve.
No two clients are the same, so we don't believe in one-size-fits-all workouts.
Build strength, muscle and confidence while developing a stronger, more capable body.
Improve the way you move and develop strength that translates into everyday life, sport and the activities you enjoy.
Improve cardiovascular fitness, stamina and work capacity through appropriately structured conditioning that challenges you at your level.
Combine effective training with practical lifestyle and nutritional guidance to support sustainable changes in body composition and overall health.
Train for the demands of your sport by developing the strength, speed, power, agility, coordination, mobility and conditioning needed to perform at your best.
Improve how your body moves while developing strength, control and confidence through a healthy range of movement.
You don’t need to be fit before you start. That’s what we’re here for.
Your goals are personal, so your training should be too.
We work with clients who want to:
Shared training is ideal for two people training together, while our small group sessions allow a few clients to train together in a private and supportive environment.
You might train with:
Unlike a large commercial gym class, our sessions are intentionally kept small so your trainer can coach, correct and challenge each person individually.
You won’t simply be handed a workout and left to get on with it.
One of the biggest advantages of small group training is that you don’t all need to be at the same fitness level.
Exercises, weights, repetitions and intensity can be adjusted according to each person’s ability.
So whether you’re starting out, getting back into exercise or already reasonably fit, you can train alongside others without feeling like you’re holding anyone back — or being left behind.
And don’t worry about being “too unfit” or “too old”.
Our clients range from young children and teenagers through to clients in their 70s, with everyone training at a level appropriate to them.
Bring a friend, partner, family friend or join an existing small group and train together while still receiving personalised coaching.
Small groups are kept intentionally small to ensure you receive the attention and coaching you need.
Love the idea of training with other people but don’t want to disappear into a class of 20 or 30?
Shared and small group training at Gymtivity gives you the best of both worlds.
You get the energy, motivation and accountability of training with others, combined with the coaching and personal attention you’d expect from a personal training environment.
Build muscle, improve strength and become more physically capable.
Train movements that translate into everyday life and sport.
Improve fitness, stamina and endurance.
Shorter bursts of higher-intensity training, adapted to your individual fitness level.
Develop strength, control and stability to support overall movement.
Keep your body moving well while building strength and flexibility.
The exact programme will vary — because we believe training should progress rather than simply repeat the same workout week after week.
Sometimes the hardest part of exercise is simply showing up.
Training with other people creates a sense of commitment and accountability that can make it easier to stay consistent.
You get to know the people you train with, encourage each other and celebrate progress together — without the pressure or competitiveness of a traditional gym environment.
And let’s be honest… training is a lot more fun when you have someone to laugh with.
Shared and small group training gives you access to professional coaching at a lower cost than individual personal training.
With only a small number of people training together, your trainer can still give you individual guidance and attention.
Having other people training alongside you can make a huge difference to consistency and motivation.
Sessions are structured around your group's needs and ability levels rather than a generic class designed for everyone.
Develop strength, control and stability to support overall movement.
Fascia activation isn’t a replacement for exercise — it’s a complement to it.
Combining strength training, mobility, appropriate recovery and body awareness can help you get more from your training and move with greater confidence.
For Gymtivity clients, fascia activation can be incorporated into a broader approach to training, movement and recovery.
Fascia activation is a wellness and movement service and is not intended to diagnose, treat or cure medical conditions or injuries. If you have a medical condition or significant injury, please consult an appropriate healthcare professional before booking.
Your body is more than muscles and joints. Fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds and connects structures throughout your body, and it plays an important role in movement and how your body responds to tension and load.
At Gymtivity, Henkie offers fascia activation sessions designed to complement your training, movement and overall wellbeing.
Using a combination of hands-on techniques and movement-based approaches, fascia activation aims to help you become more aware of areas of tension and restriction, improve your sense of mobility and leave you feeling more comfortable and free in your movement.
Fascia activation can be a valuable addition to your existing training routine if you want to:
When one muscle isn't doing its job properly, other muscles can take over and become overloaded.
Helping the body return to more efficient movement patterns and sequencing.
Particularly muscles that have become inhibited or aren't contributing effectively.
By helping the body work as a more integrated system.
Be Activated recognises the relationship between the mind, nervous system and body, and how stress can influence how we move and perform.
Improving the body's ability to perform and adapt can help reduce the likelihood of recurring dysfunction and injury.
It's not just for people in pain. Athletes and active people can use it to improve efficiency, speed, power, endurance and coordination.
The process uses assessment and immediate feedback to identify what is and isn't working.
Your session is tailored to you and the areas you feel need the most attention.
Henkie will assess how you’re moving and work with you to identify areas that may benefit from focused attention. Sessions are individual and designed to be comfortable and appropriate for your needs.
Sessions are approximately 45 minutes.

If you train, body rolling can be a valuable addition to your overall fitness routine.
Exercise places demands on your muscles and tissues. Looking after your body shouldn’t stop when your workout ends.
Sessions are approximately 45 minutes and take place in a private, comfortable environment.
You’ll remain clothed while specialised wooden rollers are used across different areas of the body. The pressure and areas worked can be adapted according to your comfort and needs.
Some areas may feel more sensitive than others, particularly where there is existing tension or tightness. Your session should always remain within a comfortable level for you.
Body rolling isn’t a workout.
It’s 45 minutes dedicated to your body.
We train our muscles. We stretch. We work on strength, fitness and mobility.
But how often do we actually take time to look after the soft tissues, circulation and lymphatic system that support the way our bodies function?
That’s where body rolling comes in.
Body rolling is a wellness treatment that uses specially designed wooden rollers to apply controlled, rhythmic pressure and movement across the body. The rolling action works through the body’s soft tissues while supporting blood circulation and lymphatic flow.
It is a simple way to give your body some dedicated attention — whether you train hard, sit at a desk all day, play sport or simply want to feel better in your body.
The body is constantly working to move blood, fluid and nutrients around the body and remove waste products. Movement, muscle contractions and breathing all play an important role in these processes.
The rhythmic pressure and movement used during body rolling can support these natural processes by:
The rolling action stimulates the tissues and encourages blood flow through the areas being worked. Good circulation is important for delivering oxygen and nutrients to tissues and supporting normal recovery and body function.
Unlike the cardiovascular system, the lymphatic system doesn't have a heart to pump lymph around the body. It relies heavily on movement and muscle contractions to help move lymph fluid.
The gentle, rhythmic movement of body rolling can support lymphatic flow and drainage , which is one reason some people enjoy rolling when they feel puffy, heavy or sluggish.
The rollers apply pressure and movement across areas of the body that can become tight or overworked. This can help you become more aware of areas holding tension and may leave you feeling more comfortable and relaxed.
Body rolling gives you 45 minutes to slow down, breathe and step away from the constant demands placed on your body and mind.
You don’t have to be an athlete, have an injury or have a specific problem to benefit from giving your body some attention.
Modern life can be surprisingly hard on the body.
We sit for hours. We stand for long periods. We train. We drive. We work at desks. We carry children. We repeat the same movements. We spend hours on our phones.
All of this can contribute to feelings of stiffness, tension, heaviness and general discomfort.
Body rolling is a simple way to introduce regular body care into your routine.
Think of it like brushing your teeth or exercising — not something you only do when something is wrong, but something you can incorporate into your routine to help look after your body.
Your workouts challenge your body.
Body rolling helps you look after it.
Whether you’re training five days a week, sitting behind a desk all day or simply want to feel more comfortable in your body, regular body rolling can be a simple addition to your wellness routine.
Body rolling at Gymtivity is provided by Body Flow Studio, Pauline’s dedicated body rolling studio in Hillcrest.
